Mirissa is one of the main and old harbours in sri lanka. Here, people engage in fishing by using various methods, such as traditional and novel methods. Also, there are number of fish in the sea around mirissa.

- Fishing in shallow sea (reef area)
There are two type of fishing,
- Time –When engaging in fishing, we use two times per day.
- Morning – 7.00am – 10.30am
- Evening – 2.30pm – 6.00pm
- Price –Payment is as follows.
- For one person - $350
- For two person - $450
- For three person - $500
Fishing in the Deep Sea
In deep sea fishing, we can catch fish like, tuna/ yellow fin tuna/ kawakawa/ frigate fish/ dorado…. Etc.
- When engaging in fishing, we use two times per day.
- Morning – 8.00am – 10.00am
- Evening – 3.30pm – 5.30pm
- Price –Payment is as follows.
- For one person - $100
- For two person - $150
- For three person - $200
Fishing in shallow sea (reef area)
In shallow sea fishing, we can catch fish like, snapper/ grouper/ bass/striped jack/ permit …. Etc.
